CAVE is a unique bookcase designed by Sakura Adachi which also doubles as a comfortable reading lounge  with in-built reading lamp. The Cave bookcase provides a private reading space within its form. As a seat  height is just above the floor, CAVE gives a feeling of hiding from others standing around it. Books can  be stored on both sides.  The Cave is a clever combination of bookcase and reading space, designed by Sakura Adachi. Putting a  reading chair right in your bookshelf is an incredibly logical idea, even if you’ll need a pretty massive  bookshelf to do it. It doesn’t look like the most comfortable idea in the world, but at least Adachi had  enough sense to include a reading light at the top of the curved cavity, so points there.

This Cave Bookcase solves the common problem of having a bookshelf yet having no place to sit in your  apartment to read the books it holds. It provides a comfy-looking seat built right into the middle of the  shelf, complete with overhead light. It's certainly neat looking, but it seems to me that a space-saving  design like this would be perfect for people who live in tiny apartments, and people in tiny apartments  can't afford to drop $10,700 on a bookcase.
